Refrigerator repair · Rosenberg & Fort Bend County

Fridge running warm and you don't know why yet.

A refrigerator rarely fails all at once. It drifts — a few degrees warmer each day, then a puddle under the crisper, then the compressor running non-stop. Catch it early and the fix is usually a thirty-minute part swap. Wait, and the compressor itself can go.

Signs it's time to call

The four complaints we hear most often about this appliance, and what each one usually means.

Freezer fine, fresh food warm

This split points at the defrost system or a fan that has iced over, not the compressor. The freezer side masking the problem is what sends most people to buy a new fridge unnecessarily. Our refrigerator cooling checklist walks through the same diagnosis.

Water pooling under the crisper

A clogged or frozen defrost drain backing water up into the cabinet. Left alone it soaks through to the floor below.

Compressor that never cycles off

A healthy fridge hums for a while, then goes quiet. One that runs constantly is fighting a losing battle — often a dirty condenser coil or a failing door seal letting warm air in.

New rattling from the back panel

Usually the evaporator fan blade catching on built-up frost. Left unaddressed, the fan motor itself starts to wear.

What we check, in order

Rather than guessing, a technician works through the same sequence every time so nothing gets missed and you're not paying to have parts swapped that were never the problem.

  • Door seal and hinge alignment
  • Condenser coil for dust buildup
  • Defrost thermostat and heater
  • Evaporator fan
  • Compressor start relay

How the visit runs

1

Describe the symptom

Tell us what it's doing, the brand, and roughly how old it is. That's usually enough to load the right parts before the technician sets off.

2

We test before we touch anything

A technician runs the diagnostic checks specific to that appliance rather than swapping parts on a guess.

3

You get a number, in writing

Parts and labour, quoted before any repair starts. If it's not worth fixing, we'll say so plainly.

4

Fixed, tested, and warrantied

We run a full cycle before we leave, and the 90-day parts-and-labour warranty is confirmed in writing.

Questions about refrigerator repair

Is it cheaper to repair or replace an old fridge?

If the unit is under eight years old and the quote comes in under a few hundred dollars, repair almost always wins. Past ten years, a failing compressor tips the maths toward replacement.

Why is my fridge fine but the freezer isn't cooling?

That's the reverse of the usual complaint and points at an airflow blockage between the two compartments — often a vent covered in frost, sometimes a fan that has stopped turning.

Can I keep food safe while I wait for the appointment?

Group items together in the coldest part (usually the back, lower shelves), keep the door shut as much as possible, and move anything perishable to a cooler with ice if the wait runs past a few hours.
